Gill blow for Grecians

Exeter look set to be without midfielder Matt Gill as they search for their first home victory since October when Mansfield visit St James Park.

The Bristol Rovers loanee limped off in the early stages of their 3-1 win over Torquay on Sunday with a hamstring injury.

Manager Paul Tisdale confirmed after the match that Gill is "very worried" about the problem which looks set to earn Matt Grimes a recall to the Grecians' midfield.

David Wheeler looks set to start once more despite having three stitches on a head injury after the final whistle at Plainmoor but Alan Gow will be assessed after he suffered a groin injury late on.

Martin Riley is a fresh injury concern for Mansfield.

Riley limped off early in the second half of the goalless home draw with Burton and the defender is a doubt for Saturday's game.

Midfielder Jamie McGuire missed the New Year's Day stalemate against Albion with a groin problem and he will be checked on again before the Stags travel to Devon.

John Dempster, Lee Beevers - either of which could replace Riley should he not be fit - Lee Stevenson, Ross Dyer, Lindon Meikle and Colin Daniel all started on the bench against Burton and will be hoping to come into manager Paul Cox's starting plans.
