Exeter V QPR at St James Park - Match Preview

Plenty of options for Tisdale

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale could recall experienced duo Alan Gow and Tommy Doherty when the Grecians entertain QPR.

The duo, who missed City's final pre-season friendly, started on the bench as Tisdale's men ran out 2-1 winners against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

And Doherty, who made 15 appearances in his three years with QPR, and Gow, who impressed as a second-half replacement, will hope to get the nod from the start against Harry Redknapp's men.

Aaron Dawson will hope to be given a chance at right-back having been a regular in that position during pre-season while Jamie Reid and Jake Gosling are both options for the Football League's longest-serving manager.

Charlie Austin is expected to make his full QPR debut when they travel to Exeter in the Capital One Cup.

Rangers boss Harry Redknapp reserved special praise for the striker following his cameo in Saturday's win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Midfield duo Shaun Wright-Phillips and Jermaine Jenas could also feature, with Redknapp looking to shuffle his pack.

Fringe players Shaun Derry and goalkeeper Brian Murphy may also start while former Manchester City defender Richard Dunne could make his debut at the back.
