Medical scuppers Devine deal

The 30-year-old had agreed terms with City, but they say they were not happy with the results of the medical and were not prepared to sign him on a permament deal.

Exeter manager Neil McNab then offered Devine a months loan, but the forward wanted more security.

"It seemed as if Exeter were trying to find something wrong and I doubted whether they really wanted to go through with it," blasted Devine.

"There is nothing wrong with my knee, it's 100 per cent fine. I can understand that it was a big gamble for the club, but every signing is a gamble."
