The 28-year-old made his return from a back injury, which had kept him out since the first week of the season, in Saturday's 3-1 win over Notts County.
Tisdale told This is Exeter: "Matt has had so little training in the last fortnight. He wasn't as strong on Saturday as he can be and he did the bare minimum to get through the game.
"So I think it's going to be four or five games before we are able to get him back to his strong, forceful self."
