Tisdale plays down Grecians play-off talk

City moved up to ninth with a 1-0 win at Spotland courtesy of Jamie Cureton's first-half goal. But with 12 points separating them from sixth-placed MK Dons, Tisdale says a trip to Old Trafford for the play-off final is an outside bet.

"Talk of the play-offs is not feasible because teams at the top are winning every week," he said. "But things can change - it wouldn't be the first time that happens.

"But we will have to keep winning every game and rely on others losing. Our first goal is to better last year's points total and we need two more to do that. With 10 games still to play, it shows you how far we have come."

Tisdale added: "We created enough chances in the first half to deserve a goal and I was satisfied to go in at half time one goal up because they also looked dangerous.

"Although they had some pressure at the end, when we had the opportunity to get into their half and play some considered passing we did that. It was a competent performance and, as well as the physical effort the lads put in, they also made good decisions and that's what every manager requires of his team."
