City capture first signing

"Ginge" as he is known up in North Lincolnshire came through the ranks at Glanford Park bursting onto the scene in the club's successful 1999 playoff campaign.

First summer signing
He scored twice against Swansea City to send Scunny to Wembley, and provided the cross from which Alex Calvo-Garcia scored their seventh minute winner.

However he has struggled with form and injury since then, with a broken leg ruling him out for much of last season. He was offered a monthly contract by scunny on proviso that he lost weight, an offer which he rejected.

He now teams up with Corny, whom he played with a brief period at Scunny, and Corny reckons he'll be a good addition to our squad.

"He is a better player than Christian Roberts," he told the Express And Echo recently.

"I don't think he has got that electric burst of pace that Christian had, but he is a far more intelligent player.

"He played against us last season when they won 4-0 at St James's Park and he absolutely destroyed us down the flank."
